This collection is inspired by marine backgrounds and pirates. Throughout these symbolic marine images of alges, corals, shellfish and marine animals...There evokes a subtilness with inspired details of the pirate world.
In effect, in concordance with the commemoration of the one hundreth anniversary of Jules Verne death, this collection used "20000 leagues under the sea" as a reference to the underwater world which is fantastic, magical, secret, and appropriate for this year, 2006.
The colors are "washed" and one finds textures of shellfish, fine cloth used for alges and animals with tentacules, as well as strong cloth for animals with shells. The pirates are represented by cloth such as large collars, boots, knickers, pirate coats, knots and many tied scarves with broches and others marine treasures...The women are in poses that Captain Nemo would have imagined like sirens.
It's with poetry, mystery and romanticism that the clothes speak. The designs are precise and details are essential. The womens body is sketched in a way that encompasses all of the feminine characteristics of the underwater world. This femininity is mixed with masculin aspects of the pirates and create a sensual character. It's Jules Verne, as well as Yves Saint Laurent who would have said that feminity is more apparent when the woman takes some masculin aspects.
Leave yourself surprised by the fantastic aspects and nonchalance of the underwater world. The sweetness of this (wich is rare to see today), paradoxes the mixture of the barbaric pirate world and the ambiance of the sea wich is always like a dream.
